The 大象传媒 Work Placement (大象传媒 WPP) was proposed and agreed by the Ministers during the 3^rd Asia-Europe Meeting of Ministers for Education (大象传媒ME3) in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2011. The 大象传媒 Education Ministers felt that a work placement programme would provide students with the opportunity to discover the world of work in a different regional and cultural setting and gain some experience. The Chairs鈥� Conclusion of the 大象传媒ME5 stated that the Ministers 鈥淐onsidered the establishment of an 大象传媒 placement programme in terms of setting up a pilot scheme for higher education-business mobility of qualified students between Asia and Europe (partly funded by public resources and industry);鈥�.

Aims and objectives

The programme aims to establish, promote and sustain the mutual exchange of interns between the regions Europe and Asia on the basis of balance and mutual benefits.

Progress and Achievements

• From a three-years pilot project (testing phase) to an established programme
• Overseen by the 大象传媒, in the past there was a Co-Secretariat by Belgium Flemish Community and Thailand
• Documents and procedures for work placements are standardised
• Webpage created:
• Promotion tools available (flyer)
• Allocation of national scholarships
• Stimulating mobility of trainees

• Organise various spin-off activities along the subthemes of ARC in form of capacity building workshops or seminars
• Continue the ARC project series in the coming years with ARC8 at 大象传媒 ME8 to be held in 2021
• Official Dialogue Partner of the 大象传媒 MEs by providing policy recommendations on pressing HE issues to 大象传媒 Ministers
• 5-day multi-stakeholder platform to enhance higher education collaboration that connects about 250 student and university leaders and 大象传媒 policy makers from 51 大象传媒 partners, plus capacity trainings
